About Us:
Piercestown Scout group was founded in February 1978 in the small village of Piercestown in the same parish as the famous Johnstown Castle Estate, Rathmacknee Castle, Kiliane Castle and many more areas of interest.
Under the guidance of our Chaplain, Fr Jim Curtis P.P., newly appointed to our Parish in the previous year, we started the Scouting Movement, with an intake of twenty-seven cubs and twenty-seven scouts, four leaders in each section and a Group Council/Finance Committee.
Now Forty Four Years later the Group is still going strong with 5 section now in the Group. Beavers / Cubs / Scouts / Venturers / and Rovers. From the beginning to the present day, we have enjoyed full support from parents and leaders and we thank them for their unfailing help and dedication.
